Show: Ghost Hunters International Episode(s): The Spirit of Robin Hood Genre: Sci-Fi/Fantasy Network: SyFy Airdate/Time: July 14, 2010 9:00pm Rating: () Grade: C+ The Ghost Hunters International team is back and this time they are investigating the Galleries of Justice in Nottingham, England. This location has conducted over 100 public executions and tortured hundreds of prisoners as well. It's also rumored to be the birthplace of the legend of Robin Hood. It's the perfect place to conduct an investigation, right? There has been a lot of paranormal activity documented at the Galleries of Justice. People have heard things and there has even been a case where someone had a physical altercation with one of the spirits. This is one that should have everything covered by the Ghost Hunters. It's such a big case, the team is bringing in two people from the Ghost Hunters Academy, Karl and Susan. They're being promoted to the big leagues and will hopefully catch some interesting data in the field. The episode is pretty much like every other one in the series. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, first the team learns about the site and what type of paranormal activity has been going on. Then they begin their investigation using the latest technology, most of which consists of beeping meters and flashing lights. Lastly, they analyze the data and report their findings at the end of the show. This is what usually turns out to be the most interesting part. For this being the return episode from the mid-season break, it's pretty tame. The team manage to hear some weird noises and possibly whispers like they always do but it's so faint that the camera doesn't really capture it for the audience. There are also EVP recordings that we get to hear along with some photographic "evidence." In the end, it's somewhat entertaining but that's about it. Ghost Hunters is a show you must suspend your belief just a little bit to enjoy and The Spirit of Robin Hood is no different. It won't solidify your beliefs in the paranormal at all although to be honest, there are a few things that are mysterious and could possibly be a spirit or entity. Will we know the absolute truth as to what's going on at the Galleries of Justice? Probably not but it's interesting nonetheless. |
